I doubt it, too many people like the metalic hue...gray is just going to make it look like it is a dull gray & non metalic.....if you have ever seen the Gold Canthan warrior armor from Kaineng dyed another color, you will know what I mean. I've seen it in red & it just sucked the metalic look right out of it....

Since the other thread was closed...will someone from anet please respond as to the non-stackable dye being permanent or not? Was it really the intent to punish those who had stored dye? Admittedly, I love the new dye preview window but I'd just like to know if my old dye is the price I have to pay.

I don't think so, maybe they are just programmed in another way

And about the black dye, I think that dervishes (if they don't get hit by the AI update) will be after black dyes to get their "reaper" look

This is the best update ever. Now there are two new dyes (and one of them is white! ) and hopefully the prices of some dyes will drop now!

I'm wondering that too. I would like to know before I start trying to dye my current armors with the new dye. If it looks worse than at first, why dye it?

Not me. I'm thinking of a blood red, or maybe some bright color, like maybe white, for my dervish.

Default My New Armor is Ugly Now

I just got it, and dyed it red. Now I am running around in ORANGE armor. It looks pretty ugly.

To access the new dye preview just dye something in the usual way and instead of being an instant thing it will open the preview.

I figured out a really cheap combo that looks exactly like silver dye thanks to the additon of grey dye purple+green(these 2 make silver[with some purple/blue qualities])+gray changes it to match silver it only costed me 1900g to fully dye my warriors armour silver.

I love the preview window, and I finally have a good hot pink color for my male 15K Kurzick.

Has anyone else noticed that the dye drop rate seems to be much, much higher? I was doing a mission with some guildies and I got 4 dye drops (one of which was brown). That's never happened before.

Default white dye..why bother?

white dye is going for 33k at the moment...why bother buying it? you can make white dye (or at least VERY close to white dye) just by mixing silver yellow and gray(not so sure about gray)...i know all of you are just going to say "NO WAY I NEED WHITE DYE IT ISNT THE SAME ITS WORTH IT ITS NOT THE SAME!"...well its up to you what you waste your money on but you can either spend 150k to dye your armor white or spend roughly 10k to dye your armor "what appears to be" white...

I would just wait a couple of weeks, after this whole nightfall rush has died down... the prices will settle.

Well for one all armor dyes differently, using one combo to achieve a color you like for one set will more then likely not be the same combo for another set.

But then it’s all about choice if people have the money to spend let them it’s not hurting me one bit.

Out of curiosity, what's the lowest price anyone has seen them go for at the trader? First time I saw them they were 18k and I bought one just to check it out in the dye preview window. Then I tried to sell it onwards for 20k but just got laughed at, hehe. I ended up using it myself and boom, one hour later it sells for 50k+ at the trader. Crazy.

I only checked once.

55k at trader at approximately 6:00 Eastern time.

I just want to get it as a drop and make a handy profit off of it. =P
